How to Stay in Your User’s Head

The secret to keeping users engaged is in staying in their head:

Psychologist Bljuma Zeigarnik observed in 1927 that interrupted or incomplete tasks or events are remembered more easily.

In UX design, this can be achieved through the use of progress bars or half-finished checklists. The human urge to complete a task creates a dissonance and helps us to stay in our users head.
